McBride’s Belfast Uni Life: Daytime

As I have grown up in Belfast all my life and study in  Ulster University with previously attending Queen's university Belfast, I'm excited to share some of my favourite things to do and places to eat in between classes.

Firstly, starting with all places close by to Ulster Campus. One of my favourite things about this area is the cool coffee shops. One of my favourites being Established based right in St Ann's Cathedral Quarter. The menu is extensive, catering to all preferences, from classic espresso-based drinks to specialty pour-overs (I highly recommend if you're a fan of artisanal and hand-crafted beverages.) Their selection of pastries and light bites complements the coffee perfectly, making it an ideal spot for a quick breakfast before class or a leisurely lunch with the atmosphere is modern and minimalist, providing a sleek and uncluttered space that's perfect for those looking to work or have a moment of tranquillity in the midst of the city's hustle and bustle. If you like this kind of vibe I would also recommend Neighbourhood and Hjem.

Also just beside the Ulster campus is Castle Court and Victoria Square, two popular shopping centres located in the heart of Belfast. Both offer a diverse selection of stores, ranging from fashion and beauty to electronics and homeware. Castle Court also boasts a food court, making it an ideal place for a quick meal while on a shopping spree and Victoria Square also features a cinema, an array of restaurants and cafes, and stunning panoramic views of the city from its observation deck. Also within the city are so many lunch spots perfect for your hour lunch breaks. My favourite being City Picnic.

As many university students live in the prime student areas of Botanic, Holylands and Stranmillis, Botanic avenue is a prime location for students to hang about near Queen's university and their housing. Botanic Avenue is a lively and culturally diverse street located in the heart of Belfast. Known for its eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops, it's a vibrant and trendy area that caters to various tastes and preferences. Whether you're in the mood for international cuisine, a cozy coffee shop, or exploring independent boutiques, Botanic Avenue has it all. Some of these resturants include : Maggie Mays , Tribal burger and recetly opened Bunsen ! And only a few minutes away from Botanic Gardens and esaily accessed from the U1 link from Ulster University.

Stranmillis, located in South Belfast and home to a vibrant student community, offers a variety of food places catering to different tastes and preferences ranging from takeaways like subway and Stranwiches, to coffee shops such as District and Sinnamon and Bob and Berts.
